Why Multiple Pitches on a Cricket Ground

1.You must have seen these multiple pitches on a cricket ground.
Do you know why there are multiple pitches while the match is being played on a single pitch?

You must be thinking that it might be due to the fact that if one pitch gets degraded during the match, the match can be played on the other pitch made. But you are wrong! Let me tell you the reason behind these extra pitches.

Each of these pitches is made in accordance with different standards and are used for different purpose like net practice, domestic cricket and international cricket.
So, one type of match can be played on the pitch made according to it’s standards only and not on the other.

Since a single ground caters to the needs of domestic, international matches as well as net practice, there is a need to have multiple pitches.
