Instagram introduced a new feature: now you can see the time when the user was online on Instagram. In your Dm section under the usewrnames you can see this information. "active today" means that the last time the user logged in on Instagram was the current day..
Simply “Active Today” means the person was active today on instagram.
It can be seen in DM
It may also be ‘Active x hours ago’.
If you want to turn it off you can .
Just “Toggle off” show activity status in settings.
